T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide review
Like it or not, T-Mobile has now officially turned its myTouch brand into an entire franchise, thanks to the addition of a second model and an entire line of styled accessories — but it’s not just about the hardware. Far from it, in fact: with the myTouch 3G Slide, the carrier has actually built a custom skin on top of HTC’s Sense for Android 2.1, and all kidding aside, this phone represents one of the deepest carrier-customized experiences we’ve ever seen. Seeing how this phone arguably represents the true successor to the G1 — T-Mobile’s (and the world’s) first retail Android device — it’s pretty important that they get this right, particularly considering how critical it is for a carrier’s bottom line to capitalize on the meaty, profitable midrange of its smartphone lineup. Does the myTouch 3G Slide live up to the G1′s good name? Read on.

How would you change T-Mobile’s G-Slate?
about 5 months ago - No comments
Splurged on a T-Mobile G-Slate, did you? Here’s your opportunity to voice your opinion to LG (and anyone else who’ll listen). Sporting an unorthodox aspect ratio and an affinity for a carrier that may not exist on its own by this time next year, it’s certainly one of the odder slate options on the market.
T-Mobile confirms gratis WiFi calling for the magenta-clad masses
about 8 months ago - No comments
Last week, the online grapevine foretold that T-Mobile users would have complimentary calling over WiFi. Now, the pink provider’s powers that be have made good on the gossip and officially made free WiFi calling official. The service is available to those with Android handsets with the carrier’s Smart Wi-Fi app preinstalled and are on T-Mo’s

The G-Slate from LG (aka Optimus Pad) was on display at T-Mobile’s booth here at CTIA, so we spent a few minutes investigating the apps the carrier is bundling with the 8.9″ Honeycomb tablet at launch, namely Need for Speed Shift, T-Mobile TV, and Zinio eReader. Interestingly, the same three apps are also pre-installed on
T-Mobile G-Slate and G2X dual-core smartphone coming on April 20th?
about 10 months ago - No comments
LG, you big tease! T-Mobile must be feeling a tinge of regret for hooking up with the Korean hardware manufacturer lately, as TmoNews reports both the G-Slate tablet and a new G2X smartphone (believed to be the US moniker for the Optimus 2X) won’t be coming Stateside for at least another month. Neither will be

Pretty self-explanatory really: the T-Mobile G2 is now available to buy for a measly 50 greenbacks from its carrier’s online store. It’s a web-only deal, but it’s sweetened by free overnight delivery for anyone ordering before the 20th of December. So, $50 and two years of your wireless freedom in exchange for a phone capable

T-Mobile’s Galaxy Tab available for preorder at Amazon, costs $699 unsubidized

We played devil’s advocate with Verizon’s $599 Galaxy Tab, but it looks like the T-Mobile version of Samsung’s Android 2.2 tablet is going to cost a Benjamin more — it’s ringing up at $699.99 right now at Amazon unsubsidized. If we were you, we’d wait and see what kind of deals can be had in-store
T-Mobile G2 pre-orders go live for current customers, available to all on October 6
about 1 year ago - No comments
Just as promised, T-Mobile has started offering its subscribers that “exclusive access” to early G2 pre-orders. There have been a couple of early hiccups with the pre-order page for that select group, but they’re being ironed out as we type and there’s also word that the rest of us unwashed Android geeks will be able
Pour one out: T-Mobile G1 no longer for sale
about 1 year ago - No comments
And just like that, the T-Mobile G1 is no more. A quick stock check at T-Mobile USA, Amazon, and a few other retailers confirms that the world’s first Android handset is no longer for sale, marking the end of an era. Of course, it’s been nearly two years since we first saw the G1, and
