ZTE announces 7-inch ZTE Light Android tablet
Oct 13th
ZTE didn’t exactly manage to impress with its low-cost ZTE Racer Android handset, but the company’s now back with yet another Android device: the 7-inch ZTE Light tablet. Not a ton in the way of surprises here, as you might expect, but the tablet does cover all the basics with Android 2.1, WiFi and 3G connectivity, built-in GPS, an SD card slot for expansion, and a promised ten hours of battery life — along with what appears to be a custom Android skin. No word on pricing just yet, but the tablet is apparently now on display at the Beijing Exhibition and should be launching soon. Full press release is after the break.

Dell’s 7-inch and 10-inch Streak tablets leaked!
Apr 19th

85diggsdiggWe’d heard through the grapevine that the engineers at Round Rock were working on a number of slates to fill the Streak lineup, but man, we didn’t see this coming… at least not yet. A couple of images along with an internal Dell announcement landed on our virtual doorstep this fine morning, and lo and behold, it looks as if a 7-inch and 10-inch Streak tablet is on the horizon. But that’s not all — we learned that the “coming soon” we heard earlier regarding the Aero‘s release date on AT&T really means “June.” Later this “summer,” said phone will be joined by the Streak 5 (yeah, that’s the Mini 5 we’ve had for months now) for those who prefer a more capable mobile. As for the 7-inch Streak? Look for it to launch (presumably with or without AT&T support) late in 2010, while a 10-inch flavor follows in “early 2011.” Is Sidetalkin’ really about to return? We’re ready — so ready.
Haleron’s 7-inch iLet Mini HAL costs $199, ships March 1
Feb 27th
Want a tablet computer sans all the brand loyalty drama and eye-opening prices? Haleron‘s got just the thing for you with its iLet Mini HAL. Its humble spec brings only a 600MHz VIA CPU and 128MB of DDR2 RAM to the table, but it runs Android 1.6 and if all you want is a tablet to access the web with, do you really need more? Additionally, the onboard 2GB of flash storage is augmented with 10GB of cloud storage and the cheap expandability that’s on offer via flash memory cards or USB drives. The iLet Mini HAL costs $199 with shipping starting next week, and we’ve been reliably informed that there’ll be no additional charges no matter how many poor Space Odyssey jokes you decide to make.
