Panasonic’s home audio extravaganza at CES 2010

0
Panasonic blew right through a ton of new products during its CES keynote, and it’s keeping up an equally frantic pace with the rest of the official business, with it pushing out no less than a half dozen press release that just cover its home audio-related offerings. Those include the SC-HC20, SC-HC30 and SC-HC40 iPod / iPhone speaker systems, the SC-SP100 compact iPod speaker system (pictured above), a trio Blu-ray home theater system that include various speaker options, the slimline SC-HTB1 soundbar with a built-in subwoofer, and the SC-ZT2 wireless audio system that Panasonic proudly boasts is the “first fully wireless home theater audio system made for Full HD 3D” — oh, and a new pair of noise-canceling headphones too. Head on past the break for a rundown of the key vitals, and hit up the gallery below for a look at the whole lot.

Panasonic packs a punch with portable Blu-ray player at CES (hands-on)

Panasonic was showing off its new lineup of cameras and camcorders at its display table at Digital Experience, but that wasn’t what really caught our eyes. Nope, that honor went to the DMP-B500, a portable Blu-ray player that had both a killer screen and a (fairly) slim profile. Better yet, it doubles as a standalone Blu-ray player when you connect it to your TV, and it links up nicely with other VIERA products. Also on display was a WiFi photo frame with a built in CD player and a hidden iPod dock. Calendar and photo widgets looked nice on the crisp display, and let’s just put it this way, we don’t know how much we’d mind waking up to that in the morning. You don’t have to take our word for it though, check our the goods in our hands-on gallery.

Panasonic debuts MW-10 photo frame / iPod dock / sound system

Can something manage to be both an iPod dock and a photo frame yet still manage to look like neither? It can if it’s Panasonic’s new MW-10 “multimedia audio system photo frame,” which looks more like a shrunken down LCD TV than anything else. If that suits your decor, however, it looks like you’ll get quite a bit from this little package, including a 9-inch WVGA display, 4GB of internal memory, an SD card slot, an FM tuner, some puported “audiophile-quality sound,” and even a built-in CD player to complement the iPod dock ’round back. Look or this one to hit US retailers sometime in December for $299.95 — or if that’s too long to wait, you can pick one up in Japan right now, where it launched last month.
